About the Journal

The Journal of Intelligent Computing and Artificial Intelligence (JICAI) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Nusa Cendekia. JICAI provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and industry professionals to disseminate original theories, methodologies, algorithms, systems, and applications in Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Computing, Machine Learning, and Data Science.

JICAI welcomes submissions that advance both the theoretical foundations and the practical, real-world deployment of intelligent systems, with particular interest in work relevant to Indonesia and the broader Southeast Asian region, alongside contributions from the global research community.

Aims and Scope

JICAI publishes original research articles, review articles, and applied research contributions in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence (foundations, reasoning, planning, multi-agent systems)
  • Machine Learning and Statistical Learning
  • Deep Learning and Neural Network Architectures
  • Computational Intelligence (fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence)
  • Intelligent Systems and Decision Support Systems
  • Data Science, Big Data Analytics, and Data Engineering
  • Computer Vision and Image Processing
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Speech Processing
  • Pattern Recognition and Signal Processing
  • Reinforcement Learning and Autonomous Systems
  • Robotics and Embedded Intelligent Systems
  • Internet of Things (IoT) with AI integration
  • AI Ethics, Explainability, and Trustworthy AI
  • Applied AI in healthcare, finance, agriculture, education, and industry (Industry 4.0/5.0)

Types of Published Articles

  1. Research Articles report original, previously unpublished research findings. A research article must present a clear research problem, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion, with a transparent account of how findings contribute to the field. Maximum length: 8,000 words, including references.
  2. Review Articles critically synthesize existing literature on a specific topic within the journal's scope, identify research gaps, and propose future research directions. Maximum length: 10,000 words, including references.
  3. Applied Research / Case Studies are accepted only where the work demonstrates significant, generalizable impact on industry or community practice (e.g., a deployed AI system with measurable outcomes), and is not merely a project report. Maximum length: 6,000 words.

All submitted manuscripts must be original, must not be under consideration elsewhere, and must not have been generated in substantial part by AI text-generation tools without full disclosure (see Author Guidelines — Use of AI Tools).

Publication Frequency

JICAI is published twice a year (2 issues per year), in February and August. The initial publication schedule for 2026 is as follows:

  • Vol. 1 No. 1: February 2026
  • Vol. 2 No. 2: August 2026

Each issue targets a minimum of 5–10 articles, consistent with the minimum article-count expectations of national accreditation bodies. The publication schedule will be reviewed annually as submission volume grows.

Language

Manuscripts must be submitted in English. Clear, concise academic English with correct grammar is required. Authors who are not native English speakers are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript reviewed by a professional proofreading service or a fluent colleague prior to submission.

Open Access Statement

JICAI is a fully open-access journal. All content is freely available immediately upon publication, with no embargo period and no subscription or paywall of any kind. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full text, or otherwise use the articles for any lawful purpose, subject to the terms of the Creative Commons license described below.
